This Privacy notice explains what personal data is processed when you use the Playa Cars website (the “Site”) and why, under Mexico’s Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties (LFPDPPP) and other applicable rules.
The short version
The Site has no user accounts, forms or payments, and does not ask for your name, email or phone number. Only the minimal technical data needed to run it is processed.
Data we process
- Technical browsing data: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, date and time. Our hosting and network provider processes it to deliver the Site, protect it against attacks and abuse, and diagnose faults.
- We do not collect sensitive personal data or financial data.
Purposes
We use that data only to: (a) deliver and display the Site; and (b) keep it secure and prevent fraud and abuse. All are necessary for the service. We do not use your data for marketing, advertising or profiling, and we make no automated decisions about you.
Data stored in your browser
Saved cars, your compare list and your theme preference (light or dark) are kept in your browser’s local storage (localStorage), not on our servers. To show them, the Site requests those cars by their ID without linking them to your identity. You can delete them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
Contacting dealers
When you tap WhatsApp, Call, View listing or Website you communicate directly with the dealer or a third party; Playa Cars does not receive that data. The dealer and the service you use (for example WhatsApp) are responsible for the data you give them, under their own privacy notices.
Dealer details shown on the Site (trade name, phone, address and website) are business contact details published by the dealers themselves.
Processors and transfers
We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for their own purposes. We use providers that process it on our behalf, mainly Cloudflare, Inc. (hosting, network and security), which may involve processing outside Mexico, for example in the United States. We will only disclose data to authorities when required by law or by an order of a competent authority.
Your rights
The Site does not collect data that identifies you and keeps no information linked to you. Saved cars, your compare list and your theme preference live only in your browser: you can view, change or delete them yourself at any time. Technical browsing data is handled by our network provider under its own privacy policy.
Retention
Technical logs are kept for short periods, according to our providers’ settings.
Minors
The Site is not directed at people under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this notice
Any change to this Privacy notice will be published on this page with its update date.
